Why we will stop using WeTransfer.

The problem:

WeTransfer’s new T&C grant them a perpetual, worldwide right to use, modify, and sublicense any files uploaded to their platform, including confidential or commercial work. This means you give up partial control over your own files, even if you delete them later. This also conflicts with the NDA's we have in place with our clients, as we can no longer guarantee exclusive control over shared files.

Even if the intent is limited to “service improvement,” the wording leaves the door open to far more. We’ll delete all existing transfers before August 1. 

For now, we’re switching to Smash. A platform that does not claim rights to your files. Questions? We’re happy to share more.
